Green Frog Cafe

"Living in nature, listening to the rain, Green Frog Cafe, that's where I want to be. The hemlocks are green, the creek is tricklin, there's geese on the pond, the forest sighs. Green Frog Cafe that's where I want to be, home of my soul, spirit of the mountains." Ruminations of Rhona McMahan

It has been sometime since I have written. Today is December 30, and we are frantically preparing to leave for Holland tomorrow evening. I wish all of the readers of this blog a Happy New Year! I am working on my New Year resolutions right now, focused, as usual, on more exercise and healthier eating. I hope to have a good year in 2006, my 65th year of living. I hope to be awarded a sabatical from the university where I have been teaching for 28 years, to develop a greater understanding of the technology needed to prepare lessons useful in on-line learning, and to spend significant time at the Green Frog (for a change). Grandson Caleb has already experienced Christmas for a second time, daughter Amanda will complete her formal education in the culinary arts during the year, son Colin seems ready to complete his final year of college at Tulane, and daughter Jonica seems happy in her new apartment in Brooklyn, and in her photography. Son-in-law Gabe is a wonderful father to Caleb, and and a joy to get to know. Chelsea my beloved partner in most things for the past 14 years continues her studies in theology and philosophy, as well as our joint study of the Dutch language. Out on-line book retailing through Abebooks.com as Direct Link Marketing has actually been doing well, even though our home is beginning to look like a book warehouse. The dogs, Kiva (12) and Maisie (7) are getting along well for their respective ages. All in all we seem to be in decent shape as we move into the new year.
